You know, every year (faithfully!) I buy a quilting calendar. I have made a few quilts, but mostly used as inspiration! But here is one that I fell in love with, and made it almost right away...I mean this calendar is still hanging on the wall!! I adapted it a bit.

I call it getting back to my roots. It has all the elements of things I got into quilting for to start with! hand applique, hand quilting, beads, embrodiery.

anyway...anyone have this picture hanging on their wall??? ...

There was a good session here on invisible machine applique where the edges are turned under, but I'm curious about whether some of the rest of you fuse the raw edge and then stitch over it.
My class was at a LQS with one of their resident teacher/staff members. I've never worked with freezer paper applique and it basically was freezer paper applique by machine using the blind hem stitch with nylon thread on top and bobbin thread the color of the background. The teacher had some examples that were LOVELY...she was so skilled at the technique that you could hardly tell it was machine done. We did a square with three leaves of varied difficulty on a square background with a reverse ...

finger on my underneath hand. I don't mean to be whining, just looking
