I'm layering Paul's king-size quilt (110" x 110")and having a hard time making sure the backing is smooth, once I get it smoothed out again how would you suggest I baste it?

I'm wanting to handquilt it, he wants me to machine quilt it but there's a challenge: my machine is on a little bitty table so I have nothing to hold the quilt parts that hang off the table. I'm seriously thinking of calling my LQS to see if they'll quilt it for us, I've been layering ...

Does anyone have a Flynn's Multi-Frame System? I recently purchased one since I do alot of machine quilting. I do not have the room for a long arm machine and saw him demonstrate it on Fons and Porter's PBS show. Do you like it and if not, why? Have you ever quilted a large quilt using longer poles?

Would anyone be interested in me quilting for them?

Ideally I'd like to just quilt for other people and work on my own projects in my leisure. I think that would be fun.

I have not used the silk or cashmere that Finisher tried, but I would like to recommend Matilda's Own wool/poly blend. It is wonderful to work with, washes well, is warm, and about 2x as thick as the Hobbs wool/polyat around the same price. I have made cuddly quilts for us with it. Buying it by the roll, which I haven't been able ...

In the project I'm currently quilting I'm using a batting that is poly/cashmere. The batting is made by the Mountain Mist company and it is from a special line of batting called the Heritage Collection. They also make a poly/silk blend. They include a nice label that you can sew onto the back of your quilt if you choose to. "Handmade ...

When you are machine quilting on a regular sewing machine and your thread breaks halfway across the quilt. Do you start that part over? Do you just pull another bobbin thread through and keep going? And if so what do you do about the end threads? :idiot2: I can't find that anywhere. I am getting ready to work on my quilting for this gift so I want ...
