Luv's... sure hope you are feeling better today and that DH has left the house under threat of bodily harm Knuppel

Last Saturday (remind me to NEVER shop on a Saturday) I went to JoAnn's. Big sale going on and the place was packed. I only wanted to get a 1/2 yd of some fleece to lengthen a Jacket... went to the cutting table and they were having you take a number...mine was 98 and they were only on 72 Shocked walked around the store for a while and found a couple of other things to use my coupons on (maybe that was their marketing plan all along??) ... finally got my fabric cut, went to the check out line which was wrapped around three isles Thud finally got up to the check out and the lady in front of me was complaining that she was going to have to go to the cutting tables to have some trim cut when she had waited so looong in the check out line to purchase said trim...she was trying to get the check out lady to just measure and cut for her.. thank goodness that check out gal stood her ground... I told the clerk that I too had waited in line to check out and also waited in line to have my 1/2 yd cut to that woman had NOTHING to complain about, ... some people think the rules don't apply to them Evil or Very Mad
took me about an hr to pick up something that should have taken me 15 min azn

Sounds like my Joanns Mamu.....very understaffed and I feel for the employees. There were 14 people in front of me in line yesterday and it was a Tuesday Morning.
Good news.......they had all the Mary Ellen's Best Press marked down from 8.99 to 2.97. I bought 3 bottles. It is nice stuff. You gals have talked about it here but I was too cheap to try it out. I was going to buy purse magnets with my coupon but they were 10% off so i couldn't use the coupon...i told the gal to forget it.....its not a need thing.

Grr....so you can see my other post for my issues with my Transformers pillow and getting things cut right. I don't have enough fabric to mess this up, so I have to wait until I get some help to start them.

The other thing that has me ticked right now is I finished the applique on December Jersey a few days ago and need to get borders on it and get it basted this weekend. The problem is I'm having problems with my indecisive self deciding on an inner border. The background fabric is blue with candy canes, and the outer border is a red background with lots of other colors and Snoopy and the gang. I have laundry going right now, so I'm not sure heading out to the quilt shop for advice is the best idea, and REALLY don't need an excuse to buy more fabric. Grrr.... I'm thinking maybe yellow or my white with silver flecks, but the white is boring and the yellow is just maybe. Blech! I need to get borders on this thing so I can start quilting it and get it on the wall in time too!

Consider a black and white check in a very narrow inner border, that makes a very dramatic transition.

Cuz Mommy didn't figure this one out when she picked the background and border fabric a few weeks ago.Plus Mommy was in Bowling Green when I decided this was a crisis.

I ended up hitting up LQS and one of the ladies there found me a nice red. Since I kind of don't have any good reds at home, I got a yard of it. That'll be tons, but I'll have some leftovers for the NEXT time I decide I need a red. The only bad part was I couldn't walk out of there with just the fabric, as I decided I HAD to have another pack of needles and a pattern.

Well, Bratt didn't ask me that question then either. You definitely needed some red.

Oh, I am flat as a tack, this heat wave is so wearing! Adelaide in South Australia has had the hottest longest heat wave for Nov. ever! We're not far behind!

You rush around like a chook turkey & a cooked one at that, to get all your chores done in the morning. By midday a movie sounds like a good idea.

DH took dogs for walk after their dinner tonight & didn't take them for a swim, what do you reckon. Those dogs kept staring at me, something was missing. Yep, a ton of grass seed in 2 dogs who insist on having a roll in the dry waist high grass!

MT I feel for you, I know just how you feel, those sustained periods of horrible heat just suck you dry and leave you listless and feeling like a dried out corn husk doll. Poor dogs, they must have really missed their swims. Do you use your slow cooker much in this weather? I used to cook chickens and such in it, stuff I could have with a cool salad.

Embarassed Gimpy cat, don't have a slow cooker, surprisingly one of the few appliances I don't have. I have a big expensive pressure cooker but only use that in the winter for soups, osso bucco or shanks etc.

Have time in the morning to cook pasta, rice or spuds for a salad etc. Such good A/C I shoudn't complain. Just makes it work all the harder turning on the oven or stove!

Today I am having a grrrr, when you ask someone a question they give a long winded reply when you only want a yes or no answer! Blah, blah, blah. Oh & boy did I get a look when I turned off the computer, DH was hovering around in the background shifting some folders on a shelf - I got what did you do that for. Hmmm, if you wanted it left on why didn't you say something!!! Shocked

hahaha - MT "Today I am having a grrrr, when you ask someone a question they give a long winded reply when you only want a yes or no answer! Blah, blah, blah." that sounds like me every day. Damn, but long winded, half assed, vague replies/answers/stories drive me bonkers, I mean really bonkers. DH stops talking half way through a sentance, laura takes after him, rambling along and not getting to the point, I want to do a Homer Simpson on them, choke the answer or whatever it is out of them. I want to yell "Just spit it out for gods sake" My dad does it too, Mum said the other day that at least dad only started it as he got older unlike bob whom I married already like it LOL I told her I hoped that with age his talking would just totally peeter out and Id get more peace and quiet ROFLMAO.

MT If you get hte chance at a slow cooker, grab one, they are great, I make spiced pear butter in mine and so good for cooking stuff, bolognaise sauce especially. AJ/Mandy makes lasagne in hers I want to try that - you would use one all the time I suspect

Thing is the reverse is true, if I go to explain anything he does the Rolling Eyes what are you on about, like I can't possibly have anything important to say.

I often mumble to myself when he's gas baggin that I have beans in my ears & find an excuse to go outside or do something in the kitchen or grab the broom or fill the washing machine.

You crap on about something they're not interested in they give you the look but you are expected to hang on their every word when they're crapping on about something you don't want to know about.

Today I forgot to tell him the neighbour was looking for him but coincidently he forgot his sunnies & cap at their house & went looking for them over there. He, he, he, trapped!

Tell you gimpy cat my DH has always been eccentric but now he is a 1,000 x's worse!! doh

It's priceless the looks on my drt.'s partners faces when DH comes out with a doozey!

I had a few bad hours yesterday. Couldn't focus, teared up for no reason, couldn't stop worrying about our situation, all the bad stuff on the news, Nick, and so on. Didn't feel like watching TV, couldn't read, didn't want to listen to music. I've never been depressed in my life but if this is what it is like, I've been unsympathetic to those people who are.

Finally decided to go about my day as if I weren't feeling this way, got to work on some string quilt blocks, finished piecing the Christmas quilts for cousins, cleaned the bathroom, and after awhile I got back to normal. Whew!

All I pray for is strength to handle what comes my way.
